Shannon Baker is a Foundation Year 1 Doctor at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, engaged in rotations encompassing General Surgery, Geriatrics, and Gastroenterology. Shannon is also involved with Doctors for Choice UK focusing on event planning for abortion rights advocacy and participates as a team member at Mind the Bleep, creating educational content for Foundation Doctors. Previous roles include University Ambassador for the British Undergraduate Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Event Coordinator for the UoS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society, and an elective in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Additionally, Shannon has completed training on Female Genital Mutilation awareness and breastfeeding support, contributing to a well-rounded foundation in medical education and patient care, alongside a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Southampton.
