Drew Mitchell began their work experience in 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer at MIM Software Inc. In this role, they designed and implemented features for a new application that supports peer reviews for clinicians. Drew also documented functionality and infrastructure for new applications and created a tool for anonymizing medical images. Prior to this, Drew worked as a Software Engineer at the same company from 2016 to 2021, where they focused on cloud, connectivity, and data storage products. During their time there, they integrated a cloud storage product with Amazon Glacier for long-term backup of medical imaging data and automated security auditing of logins to a web application.
Before joining MIM Software Inc., Drew served as a Teaching Assistant at Case Western Reserve University in 2015. Drew assisted in teaching Introduction to Data Structures and Computer Networks I, grade homework and exams, and provided explanations of difficult concepts through office hours and email.
In 2015, Drew also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at MIM Software Inc. in the same domain of cloud, connectivity, and data storage products. Their responsibilities included securing a web application with configurable SSL settings and developing network diagnostic tools to troubleshoot connections.
Drew gained industry experience as a Software Intern at Cerner Corporation in 2014, where they worked on the iBus core development team within DeviceWorks. Drew performed an uplift of the team's codebase and updated projects and plugins to Apache Maven 3. Additionally, they had a High School Technical Internship at Cerner Corporation in 2013 and 2012, where they gained hands-on experience by implementing new functionality and fixing bugs in software used by physicians. During these internships, they worked with Java and SQL and gained familiarity with industry tools such as version control and unit testing.
Drew Mitchell attended Blue Valley Northwest High School from 2009 to 2013. After completing high school, Drew pursued further education at Case Western Reserve University from 2013 to 2017. There, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
