Opper Loren has a long and distinguished career in the legal field. They began their career in 1966 as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force. In 1971, they moved to Ford Motor Company as the Director of Tax Audits and Appeals. In 2007, they joined Miller Canfield as Senior Counsel.

Opper Loren achieved a Master of Laws (LL.M.) (Taxation) from Wayne State University in 1973 and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Columbia University in 1965, with a field of study in Tax Law/Taxation.
