Manal Habib

CEO and Founder at MightyFly

Manal Habib has extensive work experience in the aerospace and technology industries. Manal is currently the CEO and Founder of MightyFly, a company they started in 2019. Before that, they were self-employed and focused on building RV7 aircraft and working as a private pilot.

In 2017, Manal joined Zipline, where they initially took a sabbatical to design a tailsitter drone with advanced features. Manal then became the Flight Controls Lead, responsible for developing autonomous flight controls for Zipline drones used in delivering medical supplies. Manal successfully developed robust flight controls for two airplane designs and incorporated new technologies such as reverse thrust and transition capabilities.

Prior to Zipline, Manal worked at Astranis as a GNC Software Engineer, where they developed algorithms and simulations for satellite attitude determination and control.

Manal also has experience at Oracle as a Software Engineer, where they designed and developed computer applications for Fusion Middleware. Additionally, they worked at Cummins Inc. as a Controls System Engineer.

Manal's earlier experience includes roles at MIT's Human and Automation Lab/UTRC, where they were a Research Associate and an Undergraduate Researcher involved in various projects related to space exploration and intelligent surveillance.

Manal also had internships at NASA's Kennedy Space Flight Center and Goddard Space Flight Center, where they worked on projects related to mass spectrometry and spacecraft design.

Manal Habib began their education journey in 2007 when they enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Manal pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, completing their studies in 2011. Following their undergraduate studies, Manal enrolled at the West Valley Flight School from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained a Private Pilot certification. Manal then continued their education at Stanford University from 2014 to 2016, participating in a Graduate Program in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification as a Private Pilot.
