Jamie Gutierrez started her career with Midwest Maintenance Company in early 1989. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Kearney State College, she began working within the company’s operations division. While pursuing her Master’s at Creighton University, Jamie rose to become the company’s president by 1995, then owner and C.E.O. in 1997.
Forging her way through a male dominated industry, Jamie took the once small cleaning business and transformed it into the multi-million-dollar business it is today. Her leadership and passion for the business has driven Midwest Maintenance to become Omaha’s largest minority-owned, woman-owned and Hispanic owned business, consistently since 1998. The business has continued to rapidly grow into a regional giant, serving clients throughout the entire Midwestern Region, with strong presence in the Houston/San Antonio areas.
Jamie remains an active member of several associations including the National Service Alliance (NSA), the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Great Minority Supplier Development, Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC), and retains designation as a Building Services Contractor International (BSCAI) Certified Building Services Executive.
In her personal time, she greatly involves herself in community and philanthropic work and is actively involved with the United Way of the Midland’s, Archdiocese of Omaha, Police Athletics for Community Engagement (P.A.C.E.), the Latino Peace Officers Association (L.P.O.A.), Team Mates, L.I.V.E. Leadership Camp, and serves as a Counselor for the Knights of Aksarben.
The “promoting people” credo Jamie endorses in her business is just as strongly felt in her personal works. She is a true leader, not only inspiring those around her with her words and actions, but by creating an environment conducive for success.
