John Griffiths has extensive work experience in the aviation industry. John began their career in the United States Air Force as an Airfield Operations Officer from 1995 to 2000. After that, they joined the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and held various supervisory roles, including Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist and Supervisory Traffic Management Controller. In these positions, they managed and supervised air traffic controllers, oversaw daily traffic management initiatives, and worked with the FAA Command Center and users to ensure efficient outcomes. John also served as the Operations Manager, where they oversaw 7 operational air traffic areas and managed a team of supervisors and controllers. Most recently, John has been working at Midwest ATC as the VP Quality Safety and Training.
John Griffiths attended the United States Air Force Academy from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Science. John then attended the USAFA Prep School from 1990 to 1991. In 2013 to 2014, they pursued further education at the Command General Staff College, obtaining a Master of Military Arts and Science degree in Interagency Development.
