Sharon Blanchard began their work experience in 1985 as a Speech Therapist/Teacher at the Falls County Special Education Co-op. Sharon then worked as a Counselor/Teacher at La Vega ISD from 1987 to 1997. From 1997 to 2011, they served as a Counselor at Robinson ISD. In 2011, they became the Executive Director at the Center for Learning & Development and also started working as an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Baptist University. Sharon held these roles until 2015. Currently, they are the Director of Special Education and Section 504 at Midway ISD, a position they have held since 2017.
Sharon Blanchard obtained their diploma from LV Berkner High School between 1978 and 1981. Following that, they attended Baylor University from 1981 to 1985, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a focus on Special Education and Speech Therapy. Sharon further pursued their education at Baylor University from 1990 to 1995, earning a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology with a specialization in LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and School Counseling. In August 1997, they obtained their certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
