Byron Stewart possesses extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as Patrol Commander for Shift-B at the Midlothian Police Department since February 2021, and previously held the position of Support Services Commander, managing several critical units including the Criminal Investigation Unit and Police/Fire Communication Center. Prior to this, Stewart was a CID/Internal Affairs Police Lieutenant at Dallas College, responsible for overseeing criminal investigations and liaising with the District Attorney's Office. With a foundational career at the Arlington Police Department from 1991 to 2017, Stewart specialized in homicide investigations, robbery, economic crimes, and undercover narcotics operations, showcasing a diverse skill set in criminal investigation and community policing. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Southern University and A&M College.
