Sharifah Azreena

Senior Transmission Controller at Middle East Broadcasting Center

Sharifah Azreena has extensive work experience in the broadcasting industry. Sharifah started their career at Communications 2000 (S) Pte Ltd in 2000, where they participated in a Vacation Training Programme as an assistant producer. Their responsibilities included conducting cast auditions, researching new programs, and translating scripts from Malay to English.

In 2001, Sharifah joined ESPN STAR Sports as a Videotape Operator. Sharifah was in charge of recording programs, ingesting program tapes and promos, and performing quality checks to ensure broadcast standards. Sharifah also tracked the status of programs and carried out tape dubbing for archival purposes.

At ESPN STAR Sports, Sharifah transitioned to the role of Network Transmission Executive in 2003. In this position, they managed operations in the transmission department, ensuring smooth and faultless on-air operations. Sharifah also conducted investigations, troubleshot and performed fault-recovery duties.

In 2010, Sharifah joined the Middle East Broadcasting Center as a Senior Transmission Controller. Their main responsibilities included ensuring the smooth operations of different networks, preparing play-lists, rectifying scheduling errors, and liaising with the creative department and schedulers.

Through their various roles, Sharifah Azreena has gained a wealth of experience in transmission control, operations management, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and coordination with multiple departments.

Sharifah Azreena completed their Bachelor of Communication in Mass Communication at RMIT University from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended the School of Film & Media Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic from 1998 to 2001. Sharifah also attended National Junior College from 1995 to 1996 and Anderson Secondary School from 1991 to 1994, although their degree and field of study during these periods are not specified.
