Chris Payer is a Senior Engineer at MidAmerican Energy Company, specializing as a Gas Standards Engineer since March 2013, responsible for editing and maintaining key compliance documents, including the Gas Operating Standards Manual and emergency response plans. Previously, Chris served as Public Works Director for the City of Sioux City from 1999 to 2013, overseeing a diverse team across various departments, including Water Treatment and Engineering. As City Engineer, Chris coordinated the $97 million Perry Creek Flood Control Project and supervised major infrastructure projects. Earlier experience includes working as a Pavement Engineer at Irving F. Jensen Co., managing a $34 million concrete overlay project, and directing operations and maintenance for 2,200 facilities as Chief of Maintenance Engineering in the United States Air Force. Chris holds a degree from Iowa State University, obtained between 1986 and 1990.
