Brian Branscomb is an accomplished technical leader with extensive experience in chip and system architecture within the networking and Ethernet sectors. Currently serving as the Associate Technical Fellow and USB and Networking Architecture Team Lead at Microchip Technology Inc. since September 2019, Brian manages a chip architecture team focused on products for Automotive, Industrial, Enterprise, and Telecom markets. Prior roles include Director of System Architecture for Networking at Microchip Technology and Director of System Engineering for Ethernet & Networking Technologies at Microsemi Corporation, where Brian spearheaded product strategy and architecture. With a foundational background as Principal Architect at Vitesse Semiconductor and positions at multiple leading companies, including LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES and Cascade Communications, Brian possesses a robust academic background with a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MSEE in Communications and Signal Processing from Northeastern University.
