Akil Kasubhai is currently an intern at Cornerstone Government Affairs and serves as the Political Director for the Michigan College Democrats. In addition, Akil holds the position of President of the Michigan Undergraduate Political Science Association and has previously served as Secretary. Akil's experience includes roles as Chair of Professional Development and Project Manager for David LaGrand's campaign for Grand Rapids Mayor at Michigan Political Consulting. Akil is also a Political Consultant for Vote U.S. Climate PAC and works as a Research Assistant on the Violations Against Indigenous Africa Project at the University of Michigan. Additionally, Akil has facilitated workshops at IGR and interned with the ACLU of Michigan and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Political Science from the University of Michigan and an Associates Degree in Science from Applied Technology High School.
