Ruediger Buddruss has a diverse work experience in the seafood industry. Ruediger started as a nautical engineer at Fischkombinat Rostock in 1987 before moving to the Maritime Academy of Warnemuende as the Chief Scientific Officer in 1989. Ruediger then joined the Messe- und Ausstellungsgeselschaft where they founded multiple companies and gained experience in various industries. In 1991, they joined Nordischer Maschinenbau Rud. Baader GmbH & Co.KG as the General Sales & Marketing Manager, specializing in food processing machinery. Later, they founded Seafood Warnemuende GmbH, a seafood processing company. In 2001, they became the Head of Production at Heuwiese GmbH, which later became part of Pizoler AG Sargans. Currently, they are the head of the Seafood division at Micarna SA and also a member of the Board and CEO of KM Seafood GmbH, a company specializing in the reproduction of European species.
Ruediger Buddruss began their education in 1977 at the professional school for able-bodied seamen in Rostock. Ruediger obtained a degree in ships mechanic and matura, specializing in deep-sea fishing, in 1980. From 1982 to 1989, they attended the Maritime Academy Warnemuende, where they earned a Dr.-Ing./PhD and a Dipl. Ing. in the field of Science of Traffic/Navigation, Fishery Technology, and Maritime Environment. In 2011, Ruediger enrolled at the Hochschule St. Gallen, HSG, and completed a General Senior Management certificate, focusing on economy/strategic orientation and general management skills in 2012.
