Chelsea Nelson, Ph. D., currently serves as the Communications & Policy Manager at Covenant House New Orleans since April 2023. With extensive experience in communications, Chelsea has worked as the Communications Director at MFP Automation Engineering since June 2014, where responsibilities include managing internal and external communication, enhancing employee engagement, and creating content for various platforms. Active in community service, Chelsea holds committee positions with Stonewall Sports and the New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter, focusing on supporting vulnerable populations. Chelsea's previous roles include teaching assistant at the University of New Orleans and board member positions with the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness and the Greater Hopes Family Services, Inc., among others. Chelsea earned a Ph.D. in Urban Studies/Affairs from the University of New Orleans and holds degrees in Communication and Political Science from Grand Valley State University.
