Jon Duarte has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jon began their career at Kona Grill as a Bartender from April 2005 to March 2007. Jon then worked as a Bartender at Houlihan's Restaurants, Inc. from May 2007 to October 2011.

In 2011, Jon transitioned into the tech industry as a Computer Technician/Network Intern at Kellum Medical Group from June 2011 to August 2011. Jon then joined Consert, Inc./Landis&Gyr as a Tier 2 Technical Application Support Engineer from October 2011 to March 2017. During this role, they proactively diagnosed issues and facilitated information transfer.

From 2017 to 2022, Jon worked at iHeartMedia in two different roles. First as a DevOps Database Administrator from April 2017 to May 2022, where they gained expertise in SQL and handled database management tasks. Later, they transitioned into a Junior Site Reliability Engineer from March 2021 to May 2022. In this role, they implemented monitoring solutions, created scripts, and gained exposure to Kubernetes and GitOps workflows.

Currently, Jon is working as a Site Reliability Engineer 1 at Mezmo since April 2022.

Jon Duarte completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2001 to 2007, with a field of study in Marketing and a minor in Economics. Jon further pursued their education at the same institution from 2008 to 2011, earning another BBA degree, this time with a field of study in Infrastructure Assurance and a minor in Information Systems. In addition to their academic achievements, Jon Duarte obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate in November 2022, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in May 2020, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in August 2022.
