Afiya Howell is an accomplished culinary professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the food service industry. Currently serving as General Manager and Chef at Metz Culinary Management since August 2016, Afiya previously held positions as Assistant Director of Prepared Foods at Martha's Table, where responsibilities included planning and implementing culinary education programs, and Lead Culinary Instructor at Open Kitchen, LLC, focusing on team-building cooking classes. Afiya also served as a Culinary Arts Instructor at DC Central Kitchen and Sous Chef at DoubleTree by Hilton. Afiya began culinary career as Head Chef for the Alpha Tau Omega Zeta Mu Alumni Association. Afiya holds an Associate of Arts degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Atlanta.
