Jack Beusmans has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jack began their career at New York University as a Postdoctoral Fellow from December 1990 to August 1993. After this, they joined Cambridge Basic Research where they worked as a Scientist, investigating human information processing in the context of driving, from September 1993 to August 1998.
Beusmans then moved to AstraZeneca R&D Boston, where they held the position of Principal Scientist from August 1998 to April 2008. Following this, they joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a Research Fellow in the Department of Disruptive Technologies, Systems Biology, from September 2008 to October 2011. Jack then transitioned to the role of Associate Director in the Department of Modeling & Simulation, Drug Development, where they focused on population pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and clinical trial simulation for drug development in cystic fibrosis, with a particular emphasis on pediatric development and assessment of biomarkers, until April 2017.
Currently, Beusmans is employed at Metrum Research Group LLC, where they hold the position of Senior Scientist since April 2017.
Jack Beusmans attended Utrecht University from 1976 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Biology. Jack then pursued further education at the University of California, Davis from 1981 to 1982, earning a Master of Science degree in Plant Physiology. Afterwards, from 1979 to 1983, they returned to Utrecht University to complete a Master of Science degree in Mathematical Biology. Finally, from 1983 to 1990, Jack Beusmans attended UC Irvine, where they successfully obtained a PhD in Computer Science.
