Alex Dyer has a diverse work experience in various roles related to pension and retirement benefits administration.
From April 2016 to the present, Alex works as a Business Analyst at Metric5, specifically for the Department of the Treasury/Office of DC Pension. The responsibilities include performing quality assurance testing on an Oracle Peoplesoft system and collaborating with the tech team to address business problems.
From May 2015 to March 2016, Alex worked as a Pension Consultant/Analyst for Octo Consulting Group at TekStream Solutions. The role involved manual pension calculations, reviewing calculations performed by others, and analyzing pension system data issues for the Department of the Treasury/Office of DC Pension.
From November 2008 to October 2014, Alex was employed at Sheet Metal Workers' National Pension Fund, serving as a Legal Specialist/Operations Manager. Duties included supervising operations staff, performing financial reconciliations, and assisting the Compliance Division in resolving delinquent employer accounts.
Prior to that, from June 2003 to November 2008, Alex worked at Associated Third Party Administrators (ATPA) as an Assistant Billing Manager for the Sheet Metal Workers' National Pension Fund. In this position, Alex supervised the billing staff and managed the monthly billing and collection of employer contributions.
Alex initially started working in the pension industry at Sheet Metal Workers National Pension Fund and fulfilled multiple roles. As a Pension Analyst from October 1998 to June 2003, Alex researched plan rules, determined benefit eligibility, prepared statements, and maintained the pension benefit database.
Lastly, from November 1994 to October 1998, Alex worked as a Sr. Pension Benefit Analyst for Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation at Randstad USA (formerly Office Specialists). Responsibilities included data audits, actuarial valuations, and calculating benefit amounts for assigned plans.
Alex Dyer, CSM, obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Urban Studies from the University of Maryland between 1988 and 1994. In terms of additional certifications, Alex obtained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) designation from the Scrum Alliance in February 2022. They also obtained the Internal Auditor certification from The Knowledge Academy in October 2019. In the future, Alex plans on obtaining the Certified CMMI Associate V2.0 certification from ISACA in March 2023. Additionally, they obtained The Complete Oracle SQL Certification Course from Udemy in February 2023.
