PhD. Material Science, Cornell University Inventor of the MetOx modified MOCVD manufacturing process
For more than 40 years Alex has been recognized as a world-class material scientist. He has run 3 research centers with over $3 million per year scale, published more than 280 scientific articles, is responsible for 14 patents, sits on the editorial boards of three scientific journals, is a member of 12 scientific societies, has been elected to the International Academy of Astronautics. Not least, yearly from 2003-2017 Alex was honored as a Distinguished University Professor of Physics at the University of Houston.
While Director of the Space Vacuum Epitaxy Center, Alex’s team developed the revolutionary MetOx modified MOCVD manufacturing process based on underlying epitaxial growth science learned from experiments flown on 3 NASA space shuttle flights. Recent efforts have been in the development of high-performance superconducting oxide thin films and their application to superconducting wire development. Alex’s varied areas of professional interest include fuel cells, artificial retina, resistive computer memory and solar cells in space. Alex provides MetOx ongoing high-level technical guidance, strategy, and worldwide contacts.
