Beth Overman

Assistant Professor Of Biology at Methodist University

Beth Overman, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Methodist University since January 2016, contributing to the academic development of students. Overman holds the position of Faculty Director for the Global Health and Physiology Study Abroad Program at NC State University, leading a program aimed at providing medical care in rural Belize. Additionally, Overman directs Graduate Academic and Professional Development Programs at NC State, collaborating on initiatives such as the Preparing the Professoriate and Mentor and Teaching Practicum programs. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Fellow, where Overman developed the Research PackTrack Program, and Graduate Student, focusing on gastrointestinal physiology and stress-induced gut diseases. Overman also teaches Anatomy and Physiology courses as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Campbell University. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physiology from North Carolina State University and a BS in Biology from Elon University.
