John Brower has a diverse work experience spanning from being a MedSurg Nurse at Hayti Hospital in 1985 to their most recent role as the Director of Epic Data Analytics, Interfaces, and Epic Security at Methodist Health System since January 2017. Along the way, they have worked in various positions, including Critical Care Nurse at Shannon Medical Center and HCA Arlington, NCOIC Critical Care Unit in the US Army, Director of Information Systems at Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital, and Programmer and IT Support at Procuts Inc. John also served as a Software and Interface Engineer at Interface People, LP before joining Methodist Health System.
John Brower has a diverse education history that includes various degrees and certifications. John is currently pursuing a Doctor of Computer Science degree with a specialization in Data Analytics and Data Science from Colorado Technical University, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science from the same university between 2018 and 2020. In 2011, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. Earlier, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Software Engineering from DeVry University in 2000. Furthermore, in 1985, they received a Licensed Vocational Nurse certification from Cotton Bowl Vocation and Technical School. Alongside their educational achievements, John has obtained several certifications including Epic Caboodle Administrator, Epic Cogito Certification, Epic Clarity Administrator, and Epic Radar Administrator from Epic, a leading healthcare software company. John also holds a CITI Certification from CITI Program, acquired in December 2020.
