Guru Mahendran began their career in 2012 as a Cofounder and Designer for Chime, which was later acquired by HubSpot. In 2013, they moved to HubSpot as a Software Engineer. In 2015, they joined the MIT Media Lab as a Product Engineer. In 2016, they joined Appcues as an Engineering. In 2019, they Co-Founded Metaplane, where they served as an Engineering. Metaplane is a Datadog for data, allowing data teams to know when things break and how to fix it.

Guru Mahendran is currently enrolled in the W20 program at Y Combinator. Prior to this, they completed a B.A.Sc. Eng.Sci. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2013. Guru attended William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute from 2004 to 2008.
