Jyun-Liang "Aaron" Lin is a highly experienced scientist with expertise in protein engineering and synthetic biology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Metagenomi since March 2020, Jyun-Liang focuses on engineering CRISPR nucleases, base editors, and CRISPR-associated transposases while optimizing their activities and minimizing off-target effects. Prior to this role, Jyun-Liang worked at Intrexon Corporation, where the development of high-throughput screening assays was key to enhancing product value. Experience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison involved evolution-guided protein engineering of non-mevalonate pathway enzymes and CRISPR Cpf1 PAM specificity. Earlier positions as a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Texas at Austin included working on synthetic biology tools and high-throughput detection assays. Jyun-Liang's academic background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a Master's in Genetics, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
