Junbiao Tang is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Generative AI at Meta since April 2014, Junbiao Tang heads the engineering team focused on monetization solutions and has successfully led the development of AI agents to enhance customer support and reshape the shopping experience. Previously, Junbiao Tang held the position of Director of Engineering, where efforts were concentrated on redesigning the machine learning stack to prioritize user privacy while optimizing ad experiences, including pioneering work in privacy-preserving machine learning. Prior to joining Meta, Junbiao Tang worked at Microsoft from July 2006 to April 2014 as a Principal Development Lead, contributing to core ranking improvements for Bing search through the development of new ranking signals and models. Junbiao Tang earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Sun Yat-sen University between 2004 and 2006.
