Rui Wang is a highly skilled software engineer specializing in machine learning, currently employed at Meta since June 2024, focusing on machine learning in ads ranking. Prior to this role, Rui Wang has accumulated significant experience at Google from April 2021, developing recommendation systems for YouTube Shorts, and at Baidu USA from September 2020 to April 2021, working on machine learning for motion planning in autonomous driving. Rui Wang also held a position at Cruise from February 2020 to September 2020, where the focus was on low-latency computer vision models in autonomous driving. An internship at Google Brain in the summer of 2019 involved optimizing machine learning model training on GPU. Academically, Rui Wang is currently on temporary leave from a PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, holds a Master of Applied Science from McMaster University, and obtained a Bachelor of Science from Peking University.
