Chris started their career as an Applied Physicist at Pipetronix Ltd from 1998 to 1999.

Chris Coughlin has a strong educational background in Physics. Chris attended Lakehead University from 1992 to 1996, where they earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Afterward, they pursued further education at Queen's University from 1996 to 1998, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Physics.

In addition to their academic achievements, Chris Coughlin has also obtained several certifications in the field of programming. Chris received a Python Programming Certificate from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education in December 2011. In April 2012, they obtained both a Java Programming Certificate and an Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1 certification, also from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education.
