Wade Wheatlake has over two decades of work experience in various engineering and project management roles. Wade began their career in 1999 as an Engineer at The Weintraub Organization, where they worked for a year before moving on to Etkin Skanska Construction Company. At Etkin Skanska, Wade served as a Project Engineer for a year before joining Merrick & Company in 2001. At Merrick & Company, they held multiple roles, including Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Design Engineer, during their 16-year tenure. In 2017, Wade was promoted to the position of Project Manager at Merrick & Company, where they currently work.
Wade Wheatlake earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Colorado State University, where they studied from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, they attended Fort Lewis College from 1994 to 1996, also focusing on Engineering.
In addition to their formal education, Wade has obtained numerous certifications. Wade is a Class 3 Collection Operator and Certified Water Professional, as well as a Class 3 Distribution Operator and Certified Water Professional, both conferred by the Colorado Water and Wastewater Facility Operators in November 2022. Wade also holds a Class 2 Collection Operator and Certified Water Professional certification from the Colorado Water and Wastewater Facility Operators Board, which they received in December 2016, and a Class 1 Collection Operator and Certified Water Professional certification from the same institution, obtained in January 2016. Furthermore, Wade is a Class 2 Distribution Operator and Certified Water Professional, achieved in January 2016, and a Class 1 Distribution Operator and Certified Water Professional, obtained in October 2015, both from the Colorado Water and Wastewater Facility Operators Board.
Wade has also acquired the PACP / MACP / LACP certification from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies in April 2015. Additionally, they are a licensed Professional Engineer in North Dakota, dating back to 2013, in New Mexico, obtained in 2009, and in Colorado, awarded in 2004.
