Amanda Pleasant holds a Master's degree in International Relations from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. Currently serving as a Program Officer at Meridian International Center, Amanda leads the implementation of international projects funded by the U.S. Department of State. Previous experience includes roles at the National Democratic Institute, where Amanda managed programs in Southern and East Africa, and conducted international election observation missions. Amanda also has extensive experience in political campaign coordination and training, having worked with the Maryland Democratic Party and various political organizations. Amanda’s career has been marked by a commitment to civic engagement and supporting democratic processes both domestically and internationally.
