Frank W. has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Frank started their career as a Research Associate at Pathology Associates, where they developed and optimized assays to test drugs for pharmaceutical companies. Frank then worked as a Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, managing interdisciplinary teams and conducting feasibility studies on biodefense projects. Frank also gained experience as an Intern at the State Employment Relations Board/State Personnel Board of Review and the Office of Technology and Commercialization at The Ohio State University.
From 2011 to 2013, Frank worked as a Compliance Officer at The Ohio State University's Office of University Compliance and Integrity, where they developed a risk rating system for laws and regulations. Frank then transitioned to become the Director of Research Compliance/Privacy Officer at The Ohio State University's College of Medicine, overseeing compliance and privacy issues and implementing a college-wide compliance program.
Frank has also worked as Of Counsel at Peissel Law Firm, where they reviewed and developed a comprehensive inventory of Ohio case law and regulations related to oil and gas ownership. Frank also served as a Patent Agent for a brief period, completing prior art searches and drafting responses for clients.
Most recently, Frank worked as a Legal Counsel at Mereo BioPharma, advising the international biopharmaceutical company on US privacy laws.
Throughout their career, Frank has demonstrated leadership and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, consistently delivering results on time and under budget.
Frank W. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the University of Arizona. Later, Frank W. attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. In November 2012, they were admitted to the Bar of the State of Ohio by the Supreme Court of Ohio. Additionally, in April 2012, Frank W. became a Registered Patent Attorney through the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
