Peter Kucik has a diverse and extensive work experience. Peter started their career as a Congressman for Chris Van Hollen in the U.S. House of Representatives from September 2003 to January 2007. Peter then transitioned to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) where they served as a Senior Sanctions Policy Advisor from August 2007 to March 2014. During this time, they worked closely with high-ranking officials within the Treasury Department to develop policies and regulations related to sanctions.
Following their tenure at OFAC, Peter became a partner and Principal at Inle Advisory Group, a business advisory firm specializing in Myanmar-focused trade relationships and business development from March 2014 to October 2017. Peter played a crucial role in assisting clients across industries with their entry into the Myanmar market and navigating sanctions-related challenges.
From October 2017 to the present, Peter has been Of Counsel with Ferrari & Associates, P.C., a boutique law firm specializing in OFAC representation and legal defense in areas of national security and export controls. In this role, they continue to provide expert legal advice and representation on OFAC matters.
More recently, in May 2021, Peter joined Mercury as the Managing Director.
Peter Kucik pursued their education at the University of Virginia from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on Political Science and Government. Following this, they attended William & Mary Law School from 2000 to 2003, completing their Doctor of Law (JD) degree.
