Rick Stoneking has a long and varied work experience. Rick began their career in 1998 as a Sports Internet Coordinator and Production Coordinator at Learfield Sports. In 2000, they moved to Elisha Technologies as an Analyst, where they researched hex- and trivalent chromium effects on metal finishing processes and prepared for and staffed company's presence at various trade shows. In 2001, they became a Teaching Assistant at the University of Missouri. In 2003, they joined IKON Office Solutions as an Associate Sales Representative, where they developed cost-reducing and productivity-increasing office equipment solutions for local businesses and created a sales training manual for new mid-Missouri sales executives. In 2004, they were appointed as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Mid-Missouri Mavericks Professional Baseball, where they sold stadium signage, group ticket packages and program advertising, worked closely with current and prospective customers, managed online outreach, and supervised press box employees during 50 home games. In 2005, they moved to KOMU-TV as an Account Executive and Sales Marketing Specialist, where they initially worked as an Account Executive and then transitioned into a new Sales & Marketing Specialist role. Rick developed and deployed sales promotions around programming, movie screenings and contests, and created the “Mid-Missouri CW Crew” concept and directed a team of six college student-interns. In 2008, they joined WILX-TV as an Account Executive, where they analyzed client business objectives, audience demographics and Nielsen data, created ad copy for commercials, and managed and developed advertising campaigns. In 2014, they moved to Cumulus Media as an Account Executive, where they continually exceeded B2B client buyer’s qualitative and quantitative requirements for a group of Cumulus stations leading to more than a 46% market share of ad budget. In 2015, they established SK Consulting (Stoneking Consulting LLC), where they have helped more than fifty small, new, and non-profit businesses reach their marketing and business goals. Rick has designed and implemented strategic branding and marketing campaigns for clients, and developed WordPress, Wix and Weebly websites for clients. In 2022, they joined Mercury Broadband as Manager of Paid Media & Direct Marketing.
Rick Stoneking attended Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1989 to 1991, studying Civil Engineering. Rick then attended the University of Michigan from 1991 to 1993, also studying Civil Engineering. Rick Stoneking then transferred to the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they completed a BS in Civil Engineering in 1995. Finally, they returned to the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001 and completed an MBA in Marketing in 2003.
