Tony Blount is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in infrastructure and security management. Currently serving as CTO of Infrastructure & Security at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. since July 2019, Tony previously held the role of Head Of Infrastructure & Security at VARO Energy, where responsibilities included overseeing a group-wide infrastructure team following a significant merger. Prior to VARO, Tony operated as Owner & Principal Consultant at Veretam, providing consultancy services to reputable firms such as British American Tobacco and Ophir Energy. Earlier experience includes strategic roles at Glencore, where Tony led enterprise security efforts and played a crucial role in integrating security operations post-merger with Xstrata, and at GFI Informatics, beginning as a Senior Security Consultant and later becoming Security Team Manager.
