Senior Principal Scientist, Clinical Director at Merck

Kiki Cunningham-Bussel, MD PhD, currently serves as a Senior Principal Scientist and Clinical Director at Merck since July 2021, leading early development teams and program initiatives while overseeing a complex Phase 1b study in the Immunology, Cardiometabolic, and Respiratory therapeutic areas. Prior experience includes serving as Clinical Director in the Translational Medicine Department at Merck and as a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Rheumatology and an Internal Medicine Resident at Brigham and Women's Hospital from May 2015 to July 2021. Kiki Cunningham-Bussel earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School (2015 - 2021) and a combined MD/PhD degree in Immunology and Microbiology through the Tri Institutional MD/PhD Program (2007 - 2015), alongside a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences (2009 - 2014) and a Bachelor's Degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from Cornell University (2001 - 2005).
