Helen Sonner is a Principal Scientist and Director of Medical Writing at Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, with a tenure starting in July 2021 following a position as an Associate Principal Scientist and Principal Medical Writer. Prior to this, Helen held the role of Medical Writer at the Strategic Solutions Division of PRA Health Sciences from January 2019 until the acquisition by ICON in July 2021. Additionally, Helen was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Galway in 2019 and served as a Medical Writer and Regulatory Project Manager at The Emmes Corporation from June 2013 to January 2019. Earlier experience includes a significant role as Executive Director of Institutional Advancement at Eastern Virginia Medical School and as an Editor at DePaul Medical Center. Educational qualifications comprise a PhD in English from Queen's University Belfast, an MPhil in Classics from Trinity College Dublin, and a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
