Amber Hilderbrand

Amber Hilderbrand is a Senior Scientist at Merck since June 2020, with a strong academic background in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, holding a PhD from the University of Delaware and a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Prior to joining Merck, Amber served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Delaware, focusing on the design and engineering of peptides for hydrogel biomaterials. As a graduate research assistant, significant contributions included the development of a 3D hydrogel-based culture system and investigations into the mechanical properties of hydrogel materials. Amber co-founded the EmPOWER Program, which supports graduate students in mental health and wellness, and held leadership roles in various graduate student organizations, enhancing departmental dialogue and community.
