James Leddington started their work experience in 2017 as a Trainee Program Attendant at EON Reality, where they gained experience in VR, AR, and MR industries. James utilized various skills, including 3DS Max for asset modeling and animation, UV mapping, rigging, and Photoshop for texture work. In 2018, they worked as a Trainee Designer Homeware at Next Ltd as part of an internship program. Later that year, they joined River Woodwork as a Junior Furniture Designer and Interior Architect. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Freelance Furniture Designer and Interior Architect. In 2021, they became a UX Student at the UX Design Institute, focusing on developing strong fundamentals in human-centered design. James expanded their learning beyond the required curriculum and gained experience in areas such as HCD practice, user research methods, ideation techniques, and information architecture. Currently, they are working at Mercator Digital as a Junior Interaction Designer and is expected to transition to the role of Interaction Designer in 2023.
James Leddington obtained a Diploma in UX Design from the UX Design Institute in 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Product Design from the University of Lincoln, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Before attending the University of Lincoln, James completed an Extended Diploma in Art & Design at the University of the Arts London from 2012 to 2014.
In addition to their formal education, James has obtained several certifications. In December 2021, they received a certification in Figma and User Interface Design Essentials from awwwards. James also obtained a certification in Graphic Design Fundamentals from TheFutur in December 2021. In April 2021, James completed a certification course in UI / UX, Figma, HTML & CSS from Udemy.
