Kevin Sweeney serves as a lecturer in the Sociology & Criminology department at University College Cork since September 2018, focusing on criminal law, corporate crime, policing, and criminological theory while also directing the Masters programme in criminology. In addition, Kevin is a Tribunal Panel Member with the Mental Health Commission IRL and a member of the Vigitrust Global Advisory Board, which promotes information sharing among industry leaders in security and compliance. Kevin's previous experience includes roles as a Senior Regulatory Consultant at The Compliance Group, an Implementation Consultant for the REPPP project, and a Special Branch Detective with An Garda Síochána. Kevin holds a Ph.D. in Law from University of Limerick and multiple postgraduate qualifications in trauma studies, teaching, and financial crime prevention.
