Julie Dorsey is a prominent computer science educator and researcher with extensive experience in academia and industry. Serving as the Frederick W. Beinecke Professor of Computer Science at Yale University since July 2002, Dorsey has also contributed to the field as the Founder and Chief Scientist at Mental Canvas since 2013. Dorsey previously held the position of Editor in Chief for ACM Transactions on Graphics from January 2012 to February 2015 and was an Associate Professor at MIT from July 1994 to July 2002, where Dorsey was tenured in the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Architecture. Julie Dorsey completed advanced studies at Cornell University from 1982 to 1993.
