Ashish Kokkula is an undergraduate researcher at the New Jersey Institute of Technology since February 2021, focusing on the efficacy of PLGA-encapsulated and PEG-surface modified platinum nanoparticles in treating triple-negative breast cancer. Kokkula has also served as a student research assistant, collaborating with Dr. Wen Zhang on air filtration techniques for wildfire-affected Californians. In addition to research, Kokkula works as a research consultant at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, evaluating innovative cardiovascular technologies. As a robotics mentor at The Gifted Child Society, Kokkula has taught engineering concepts to elementary students and previously managed the LEAD program at SEWA International USA, organizing community-focused events. Kokkula's early research includes producing nanoparticles for insulin delivery at Bergen County Academies and synthesizing chemokine receptor antagonists to combat glioblastoma cells during a summer program at Kean University. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Kokkula is set to graduate in 2024.
