Sandy Estrada has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. They started their career in 2004 as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Lee Health and worked there until 2017. In 2018, they joined T2 Biosystems as Director of Clinical Affairs and later became the Vice President of Medical Affairs, holding both positions until 2021. In 2021, they joined Heron Therapeutics, Inc. as a Medical Science Liaison and worked there until 2022. Currently, Sandy is working at Melinta Therapeutics, where they started as a Senior Medical Science Director and quickly moved up to the role of Senior Director, Medical Science Director Lead.
Sandy Estrada has a strong educational background in the field of pharmacy. Sandy completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Toledo in 1999. Sandy then pursued a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the same university, which they completed in 2001. Sandy continued their education at the University of Toledo, where they completed a PGY-2 Residency in Infectious Diseases (ID) and Critical Care from 2001 to 2002. Following this, they completed an Infectious Diseases Fellowship from 2002 to 2004 at the University of Toledo as well. Prior to entering the pharmacy field, Sandy also studied Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies at Kent State University from 1994 to 1996.
