Salvatore Fara, Ph.D., currently serves as Principal Data Science Engineer at Medtronic since September 2024, following roles as a Machine Learning Researcher and Data Scientist at thymia from September 2021 to August 2024, focusing on AI-driven analyses for mental health assessment. Prior experience includes a Data Science Fellowship at Pivigo, where collaboration on a project for thymia facilitated the transition from academia to industry. Salvatore’s academic background features a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Freiburg, where research centered on brain rhythm modulation via transcranial current stimulation, and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London, where development of a low-cost muscle activity sensor contributed to two publications. Early research internships at Università degli Studi di Cagliari involved creating a portable medical device for telerehabilitation and embedded software development.
