Mani Prakash has been a prominent figure in the field of research and development, currently serving as Vice President of R&D at Medtronic since July 2000. Prior to this role, Mani held the position of Vice President of R&D at Covidien from July 2005 to January 2015, along with earlier roles as Director and Sr. Director of R&D. Mani's career began at Vivant Medical as Manager/Sr. Manager of R&D from July 2000 to June 2005, and included experience as Sr. Engineer/Staff Engineer at Stryker Endoscopy from March 1998 to June 2000. Academic foundations were laid at the University of Washington, where Mani earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, and at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, where a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering was obtained.
