Alicia Garcia Sanz has a solid background in the pharmaceutical industry, with over 20 years of experience. Alicia is currently the Scientific Director at Medica Scientia Innovation Research (MedSIR), a position they have held since January 2020. Prior to that, they were the Director of Operations at MedSIR from April 2017 to January 2020. Before joining MedSIR, Alicia worked at Merck Serono from 2008 to 2013, where they held various roles including Clin Ops program leader and Clinical Trial Leader. Alicia also worked at Janssen Phamaceutica from 2005 to 2008 as a Global Trial Manager, and at Almirall from 2002 to 2005 as a Monitoring Trial Coordinator. Alicia's early career started at Bayer, where they worked as a local coordinator from 1998 to 2001.

Alicia Garcia Sanz obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuropharmacology from U. Autonoma Barcelona. Alicia later pursued a postgraduate degree in Medicine in the Pharmaceutical Industry from the same institution during the years 2002 to 2004.
