Albert D. Friesen is the founder and CEO of Medicure Inc, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on therapeutics for the U.S. hospital market. Albert D. also served as CEO of GVI, an enhanced life science incubator. Additionally, they held the position of Principal at GVI Clinical Development Solutions, providing strategic consulting and clinical development support to various companies. Friesen was the CEO of CentreStone Ventures and the founder and Business Development leader at CanAm Bioresearch Inc., a pharmaceutical contract research organization. Prior to these roles, they served as the President of Winnipeg Rh Institute Inc. from 1971 to 1991.

Albert D. Friesen obtained their Ph.D. in Protein Chemistry from the University of Manitoba, where they attended from 1965 to 1981.
