Hernando Carter is a seasoned medical professional currently serving as the Vice Chairman and Board Member at the Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners since April 2018. In July 2023, Hernando took on the role of Market Medical Director at ArchWell Health, leading efforts to deliver high-quality primary care services. Additionally, Hernando provides medical consulting services at Talladega College and serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Prescription for Better Living since January 2020. Hernando's extensive experience includes positions as an Attending Physician at Ball Healthcare, Owner/President of AH Carter MD, LLC, and Founder and CEO of Living and Learning Health Outreach Ministries. Previously, Hernando held the position of Lead Physician of Internal Medicine 2 at Whitaker Clinic of UAB Hospital from November 2017 to July 2023. Hernando's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Morehouse College.
