Teresa Niño has a long history of working in the translation field. In 2004, they began their career as a Translation Intern at the Paraguay Embassy in Germany. Teresa then worked as a Freelance Translator for Scribe Consulting (2009), Welocalize Life Sciences (2011), MediaLocate (2009-2017), Telelingua Deutschland GmbH (2013), and Newsela (2015). In 2015, they also provided translation services into EN, FR, IT & PT for Tiendanimal.com. In addition to their freelance work, Teresa was also a Translation Project Manager for 350.org from 2008 to 2012. In this role, they managed projects from beginning to end, hired translators, trained them both locally and remotely, coordinated translation, editing, QA and implementation of content on the website, and did DTP for flyers and informative brochures. In 2012, Teresa founded their own small translation company, September Translations, in order to provide a full range of linguistic services.
Teresa Niño attended the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a degree in Translation and Interpretation with a focus on Translation/Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation/Localization. In 2006, they attended FTSK Germersheim and earned a degree in Übersetzen / Einführung ins Dolmetschen with a focus on Conference Interpreting. From 2002 to 2006, they attended Universidad de Málaga, where they earned a degree in Traducción e Interpretación with a focus on Translation and Interpretation (Spanish-English-German-Italian). Lastly, they attended Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2004 to 2005, where they earned a degree in Germanistik with a focus on Übersetzung und Dolmetschen.
