Sebastian Hitziger, Ph.D. has held a variety of roles in the technology and education fields. In 2021, they began working as a Machine Learning Engineer at mediaire. In 2020, they were an ML Engineer in Medical Imaging, specializing in deep learning via online courses, conferences, and paper discussion groups, as well as participating in Kaggle competitions. In 2019, they were a Teacher of Mathematics (High School) at Waldorfschule Am Prenzlauer Berg - Verein Schule Machen e.V. In 2017, they took a gap year with social engagement at Elementary School Hamburg, Ecovillage Sieben Linden Sachsen-Anhalt, and Arche le Sénevé France. From 2011-2017, they were a Doctoral Researcher at Inria, where they conducted interdisciplinary research in signal processing/ML techniques applied to multimodal neural signals. In 2010, they conducted research in medical imaging for X-ray computed tomography as part of their Master Thesis at Philips Research. Finally, from 2007-2010, they were a Teaching Assistant at the University of Hamburg.

Sebastian Hitziger, Ph.D. received their Doctor of Philosophy in Image and Signal Processing from Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d'Azur in 2015. In 2021, they completed a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera. Between 2005 and 2011, they earned a Diplom (Master) in Mathematics from the University of Hamburg.
