Sophia van Taak is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism, production, and editing. Currently serving as a Producer, Presenter, and Editor at SABC since May 2022, Sophia has worked with Media24 (Pty) Ltd since June 2004 in various roles, including Journalist for Weg/Go travel magazine, WegSleep camping and caravanning magazine, and as Lifestyle Editor. Additionally, Sophia has experience as a Page Layout Artist and Journalist, and has been a Proofreader for NB-Uitgewers/Publishers since January 2010. Previous roles include Researcher, Producer, and Presenter for the Weg! Agterpaaie travel program at ViaTV from November 2017 to November 2019, and Web Editor at Media24 (Pty) Ltd earlier in 2003-2004. Sophia holds an Honours (BPhil) degree in Journalism from Stellenbosch University, obtained between 1999 and 2002.
