David Ainslie has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. David began their career at Goodrich as a Contract Administrator from 1987 to 1989 before moving to Boeing as a Buyer, where they achieved a 10% cost savings by renegotiating contracts worth $41 million.
In 1989, Ainslie joined Interwood Marketing Group, where they held various positions including Product Manager, New Product Development Director, Purchasing Director, and Category Manager. During their time at Interwood, they successfully launched 27 new products, reduced inventory by 35%, and increased sales by 68% through new product offerings and line extensions.
Ainslie then worked as a Marketing Manager for outdoor leisure brands Coleman, Camping gaz, and Sevylor from 1998 to 1999. Following that, they joined ADESA as the Director of Marketing, where they established the marketing department for the Canadian Auction Group, integrating 14 locations across Canada. Ainslie also launched an online sales promotion website, leading to a cost reduction of $600,000.
From 2001 to 2002, Ainslie served as a Marketing Manager at Enbridge Gas Distribution, where they developed an integrated residential natural gas marketing program and launched a line of water treatment products.
In 2002, Ainslie joined Direct Energy as a Marketing Director for Energy Management, before transitioning to Director of Business Strategies, Energy Management. David held these roles until 2006.
From 2007 to 2011, Ainslie worked at Direct Energy Marketing Limited, first as a Marketing Director for Energy Services and later as Director of Business Development.
In 2011, Ainslie joined Online Refinement as the Head of Research and Insights, providing online consulting expertise to clients across various industries. David conducted a research study on Building Energy Management Systems for BSRIA, focusing on system technologies and market development trends in North America.
Since 2012, Ainslie has been working at The MEARIE Group as the Director of Education and Business Services. In this role, they developed and implemented business initiatives for group benefits, education and technical training, and HR services. Ainslie also created a comprehensive suite of education and certificate training services.
David Ainslie obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Science from Queen's University between 1979 and 1983. David then pursued further education and completed a Bachelor of Administration (Honors) degree in Marketing and Finance at Brock University between 1984 and 1986.
