At Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Dr. Mehra served as the Medical Director for Behavioral Health and Primary Care Services. During their tenure, they played a key role in establishing the Cheyenne Regional Medical Group and was actively involved in developing policies and procedures for the medical group. Abhishek also supervised and mentored physicians in behavioral health, primary care, and pediatrics.
Additionally, Dr. Mehra led the development of new services in the community at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, including electroconvulsive therapy, substance abuse services, telehealth services, and nursing home care. Abhishek also established the largest telepsychiatry services in Wyoming and partnered with the state health department to create a behavioral health home model.

Abhishek Mehra, M.D., DFAPA has an extensive education history, including various degrees and certifications. Abhishek started their educational journey in 1995 at Kasturba Medical College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree, which they completed in 2001.
After that, Abhishek went on to further specialize in the field of psychiatry. From 2005 to 2009, they attended the University of Virginia Roanoke Salem Psychiatry Program, where they completed a Psychiatry Residency Program. This residency provided him with the necessary training and expertise in the field.
Seeking additional specialization within psychiatry, Abhishek pursued a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry from 2014 to 2015 at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. During this period, they gained specialized knowledge and skills in Geriatric Psychiatry, focusing on the mental health needs of the elderly population.
In addition to their educational accomplishments, Abhishek holds several certifications in various fields. Abhishek obtained certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. in October 2010. Abhishek later achieved certifications in Geriatric Psychiatry in October 2016 and Brain Injury Medicine in September 2018, also from the ABPN.
